Bus from/to hotels
There is complimentary shuttle service from the designated hotels (Best Western, Palms Inn, Comfort Inn) to/from campus in the morning/evening. The busses are FIU branded 25 seat coaches (3) and have trackers so you can check online where they are.

Each morning/evening 2 shuttle (25 & 20 seat) will service Best Western & Palms Inn (combined route), 1 shuttle (25 seat) will service Comfort Inn. The start time is the scheduled first departure at the hotel/campus. The pickup/dropoff point on campus is Parking 2B (still labeled as Parking 33 on the campus map).
The exception is Wednesday afternoon, then 1 shuttle (25 seat) services all 3 hotels as most people are joining the free afternoon time on South Beach.
Parking
Use this link to register your vehicle for on campus parking once you have its details. Parking is permitted in Faculty/Staff spots in Parking Garages 1 & 2 (Blue, Gold) and Lots 3,4,5; see Campus Map. As it is Spring Break at FIU you should have little trouble finding a parking spot.
Walking from Comfort Inn
In the past participants to our meetings have walked from the Comfort Inn to FIU, which is about a 45-minute walk, half of which through Tamiami park and FIU campus. Note that to cross from Tamiami park into the FIU campus (see Campus Map), the gates of the connecting streets have been closed during most recent times (there is no clear pattern). It is still possible to cross however:
- the rightmost gate next to the football stadium (coming from Comfort Inn) can be bypassed by shimmying beside it, see picture below
- The back gates of the stadium are usually open, so it is possible to walk around the outside of the stadium ring into campus (see the purple arch drawn on the Campus map).
Office Space
