Travel

Duke University is located in Durham, North Carolina. It can be accessed by plane, train, bus, and car.

 

Air

The Raleigh-Durham airport (RDU) is an international airport that serves Raleigh, Durham, and the surrounding Research Triangle region of North Carolina as its main airport. It is located about 20-25 mins southeast of Durham. RDU has convenient flights to many destinations in the continental US and Canada as well as some destinations in Europe.

 

Downtown Durham can be reached by bus. Schedules and trip planner are available at gotriangle.org. The trip takes about 1 hr.

More convenient is the use of a rideshare service. The trip takes about 30 mins and costs about $30.

Train

Durham has an Amtrak station on the Carolinian/Piedmont line connecting Charlotte, NC, with New York City. The train station is located in downtown Durham and the train stops four times a day. The train station is a short walk away from the convention center.

Bus

Durham has a Greyhound bus station.

 

The Duke Campus is served by a variety of Duke buses as well as the Durhm public bus system operated by GoDurham . The site also provides live tracking of buses.

 

Car

Interstates 85 and 40, plus US Highways 70 and 15-501 connect Durham to the rest of the country.

Parking at the Durham Center parking structure is available for $7/day.
