Description

Nordugrid ARC is widely used today in the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid as one of the two recommended middlewares connecting the grid sites. It has served the WLCG and the High Energy Physics Communities very well since its birth in 2002. Now though, ARC aims to reach more communities outside of HEP like for instance in the fields of Bioinformatics, Astrophysics and Climate Research to mention a few. In addition we want to provide a user-friendly computing platform for HEP-related education and research. With the EuroScienceGateway (ESG) project, with kick-off autumn 2022, we will do just that. In ESG, the user-friendly scientific job deployment portal Galaxy, already used by many different scientific communities, will be interfaced with ARC end-points. In addition, DIRAC will couple the two, resulting in a multi-community distributed computing platform. In this way, central Galaxy servers will seamlessly be able to submit their workloads to remote cloud and HPC centers.

In this talk we will present the ESG project, and show how ARC will be interfaced with Galaxy and DIRAC to create a new multi-community computing platform.
