The Heavy Photon Search (HPS) collaboration will have its semi-annual meeting at Jefferson Lab from June 3 to June 5, 2024. Collaboration is busy with calibrating and aligning the 2019 and 2021 physics run data, preparing for the next run, and pursuing various physics analyses. At this meeting, we will hear updates from different working groups. We expect presentations on the progress of searches of canonical dark photons and other long-leaved particles, such as SIMPs and iDM. The business session of the meeting includes updates from the Presentation and Publication and The Executive committees (PPC and EC).

I did not sync with Alic before making these results so the plots labeled with "Alic" are behind and not representative of his current results as shown in his talk. I also refer to the vertical impact parameter y0 with its legacy name z0 which could easily lead to confusion.

Momentum Smearing

In my backup slides, I have some preliminary investigations into how this momentum smearing is implemented in hpstr. The long story short is that it appears to be algorithmically correct, but the smearing factors have not been tabulated in a long time. Perhaps the next step is to re-calculate these smearing factors in order to determine if they have shrunk compared to the prior estimate.

 

Nprompt - is the number of dark brem produced within prompt readout acceptance.

Mass Window - 2sigma on either side

Maybe try using the z-cut from the original analysis in-place of z0

Maybe need to re-tune the placement of the z0 cut?
