Description
We will discuss the present status of the Phenomenology of Transverse spin.
In the recent decades a lot of theoretical and phenomenological attention was given to unraveling the origin of spin asymmetries in polarized hadron and electron scattering. A new concept of 3D (three-dimensional) parton distributions was proposed that allows for a better understanding of the hadron structure. We will review the recent development in the field. In particular we will illustrate the first extraction of the
nucleon tensor charge from current experiments
by a combined analysis of the Collins asymmetries in two hadron
production in $e^+e^-$ annihilations and single inclusive hadron
production in deep inelastic scattering
processes.
