About York

York is a vibrant city with rich history, surrounded by ancient walls. The York City Centre is host to thirty world-class museums (including the national railway museum), one of the best racecourses in the UK, and abundant culture.

Food and Drink:

Spark is an open air food and crafts market with a wide variety of cuisine options. The venue is very large but there can be a wait for a table on busier days. Open Tuesdays-Sundays.

Chopping Block at Walmgate Ale House serves a mixture of English and French food in their restaurant as well as local ales at the bar downstairs. Despite the small front, the building is large on the inside so suitable for larger groups. On the pricier side for York but not unreasonably expensive.

Cresi Pizzeria is one of the best pizzerias in York serving Neapolitan style pizza and homemade tiramisu. It is small and very popular so booking a table in advance is recommend, however they also have takeaway and delivery options.

Brew York is as craft beer pub in York with space for larger groups, they serve some Asian street food options in the pub which is good for a more informal meal. Open Tuesdays-Sundays.

Market Cat is a pub in the centre of York serving craft beer as well as pizzas in 18" sharing sizes. Open all week.

The Shambles has a variety of food options as well as other shops. As the most famous street in York it is definitely worth a visit! Also check out the food market just off the shambles for a variety of food stalls including the viral crumble stall Crumbles Desserts.
