Description

The Center for Nuclear Femtography (CNF) and Theory Center mini-workshop, Vector Quarkonia as Pressure Gauges, will take place at Jefferson Lab from March 26-27, 2026.

The goal of this mini-workshop is to bring together experimentalists and theorists to discuss how vector quarkonium production can be used to probe the mechanical structure of the proton. We will review the state of the art in techniques and explore what is needed to make these measurements a success. Discussions will include:

  • Theorists: Improving factorization frameworks
  • Phenomenologists: Better uncertainty quantification in mock-data fits
  • Experimentalists: Planning experiments and facilities requirements
  • …and any other topics that naturally arise during the workshop.

The workshop will featureseveral sessions of half-hour talkswith extended discussion periods.

Special Highlight: CNF Seminar by Yoshitaka Hatta

As part of the mini-workshop program, there will be anhour-long CNF seminar by Yoshitaka Hatta (Brookhaven National Laboratory), scheduled for theafternoon of March 26. This seminar will provide key insights and context to guide the discussions throughout the workshop.

We anticipate concluding the workshop by4:00 PM on March 27.

The mini-workshop will behybrid, with both in-person and online participation. While we strongly encourage attending in person at Jefferson Lab, you are welcome to present your work and join discussions via Zoom.
