Description

How are quarks and gluons distributed inside the proton? We describe the internal structure of the nucleon in terms of parton distribution functions. When considering the arrangement of partons in 3D momentum space, we introduce the concept of transverse-momentum dependent distribution functions (TMDs). I will discuss recent advances in the study of TMDs, one of the main topics of the “QCD Evolution” workshop taking place at ANL in the week of this colloquium.
