The EIC User Group (EICUG) is organizing a 12-18 months intensive study of the EIC physics and detector concepts.  This study seeks to build on the 2014 EIC White Paper and the EIC Detector Requirements and R&D Handbook and will be complementary to the ongoing effort at laboratories and universities worldwide.  The goal of the study is to quantify physics measurements for existing or new physics topics focusing on implication for detector requirements and to study detector concepts based on these requirements. At the kick-off meeting on December 12-13, the organizational structure of the EICUG physics and detector study will be put in place.

The meeting will be held at the MIT Laboratory of Nuclear Science in the Kolker Room. The meeting room is located in building 26 in the fourth floor (26-414). For those attending in person, a registration fee of USD 50.00 will be charged to cover the coffee and lunches being provided. Registration is closed.

A block of rooms at the Cambridge Marriott Hotel is available for the Wednesday and Thursday nights at a reduced rate of USD 240.00 per night. Please reserve your room by November 20th (link to hotel reservation page). The hotel is located in Kendall Square and is just a 10 minute walk from the Kolker Room (26-414). You can reach the hotel easily by the Red Line metro or Taxi/Lfyt/Uber from the airport, a rental car is neither required nor recommended.
