CLAS12 Detectors: End Game Assessment (Draft)

The goals are:

-  To clarify the remaining "on-project" scope of work for each detector and identify a definite plan to complete that work on schedule within the current detector budget.  The 12GeV Project scope is limited to what is necessary to demonstrate the Hall B Key Performance Parameter goal: "Detector operational" events recorded with a > 2 nA electron beam at > 6 GeV beam energy (3 pass)."

-  To assess the priority of proposed work items beyond the 12GeV Project scope that would enhance the detector capability/operability/reliability.  The scope beyond the 12GeV Project will be considered for execution separately by the Physics Division at a later date taking into consideration recommendations from this End Game Assessment and availability of resources.

To prepare us for this assessment, for each detector we will collect the following material:

-  Summary of the 12GeV Project plan (tasks/cost/schedule) for each detector including construction, installation, and pre-ops scope, provided by C. Rode, A. Lung, and G. Young.

-  Proposal for potential work beyond the 12GeV Project that would enhance the detector capability/operability/reliability, with cost and schedule estimates, provided by G. Young in consultation with the Detector Technical Lead.

-  Draft of supporting criteria for the Hall B KPP, provided by R. Ent, A. Lung, V. Burkert, G. Young, L. Elouadrhiri, and a CLAS user representative.

We will schedule a meeting (3-4 hours) where the detector system team will present:

-  Overview of detector system, including the physics motivation, technical description, and performance specifications.

-  Plan for completing all 12GeV Project scope through pre-ops commissioning.

-  Plan for any requested additional work including justification/benefits.
