CEBAF 2037 - Community Kick-Off

CEBAF 2037 is a community-led planning effort to build a bold and credible science vision for CEBAF that runs through the next decade and well into the EIC era. This kick-off meeting starts that process.

We will focus on

• The science that only CEBAF can do. The most compelling open questions in QCD and hadron structure, nuclei, and fundamental symmetries, where CEBAF’s beam energy, intensity, polarization and duty factor give it a unique edge.
• Complementarity with the EIC. A program that works alongside the EIC and keeps Jefferson Lab and the United States at the forefront of this field worldwide.
• The capabilities needed. What CEBAF and its halls must provide to deliver that science, building on today’s world-class facility and recent investments, and identifying the enhancements worth pursuing.

The process is open to the whole community, and early-career scientists are especially encouraged to take a leading role. CEBAF’s future program will be theirs to build.

Organized by the CEBAF 2037 Organizing Committee, chaired by Prof. Or Hen (MIT), with the Jefferson Lab Users Group and laboratory leadership.
