DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Akshaya Vijay\, Gary Penman (University of Glasgow)\
, Derek Anderson (Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility)\, Wenlia
ng (Bill) Li (Mississippi State University)\, Douglas Higinbotham (Jeffers
on Lab)\, Jennifer Rittenhouse West\n\nThe 2026 EIC Early Career (EC) Work
shop will take place from July 11-12\, 2026\, at the University of Glasgo
w.\nThis workshop aims to connect students\, postdocs\, and other early ca
reer researchers (ECRs) working on all aspects of the EIC including experi
mental physics\, theory\, data science\, and beyond! This year’s program
will include:\n\nAn EIC software tutorial\,\nGuest talks from senior rese
archers working in nuclear/hadronic physics\,\n\nContributed talks from EC
 Rs\,\n\n\nECR Poster Competition\,\n\n\nAnd a dedicated ECR town hall.\n\n
\nWhile the focus is on ECRs\, the meeting is open to everyone. The meetin
g will be run in a hybrid mode\, both in-person and remotely on Zoom. Conn
ection details will be provided closer to the workshop.\nImportant Registr
ation Information:\nAll ECRs attending are strongly encouraged to present
their work in a short talk to their peers! To secure a timeslot\, please s
ubmit an abstract when registering. The talks should aim for roughly 15 mi
nutes in length with 5 minutes for discussion. And – carrying on the tra
dition from last year – talks should include 1 – 2 opening slides at a
TED-talk level\, which explain what you’re working on to a general audi
ence and how it fits into the bigger EIC/physics picture.\nAn ECR Poster C
ompetition will also be held during the workshop\, and all ECRs attending
are encouraged to submit a poster — even if they’re already giving a t
alk (that’s totally fine and very much encouraged)! Posters can showcase
  full EIC/ePIC physics results\, hardware/software work\, or take a more o
utreach-style approach that explains your work in a fun\, accessible way a
nd how it connects to the bigger EIC picture. The session is meant to be i
nformal and interactive\, with plenty of time for discussion across topics
and career stages.\nNo payment is needed to complete the registration. Th
ere is a limited number of free rooms reserved at the Kelvinhaugh Gate Stu
dent Accommodation for ECRs. If you would like to request one\, please reg
ister by June 5th\, 2026!\nAdditional information on travel and accommodat
ions can be found on the EICUG Main Event Page:\nhttps://indico.bnl.gov/ev
 ent/31808/page/731-travel-and-information \nTo participate in the EICUG m
ain event\, please complete a separate registration at\nhttps://indico.bnl
